Music was created by God and because Satan was prideful he wanted worship to be for him. That is why he was thrown out of Heaven.
So I do not believe that music is bad, my concern is with the words that the music my transmit to others.
I have heard beautiful cultural music but I have also heard the words of many that give worship to all carnal sins. So what I do not condone is the sin not the music, if the music has a good and positive message by all means, but if they are songs that take me away from God than I do not accept it. What I suggest is analyze each word of each song and see what they are saying to you. As a christian we use all the rythems but with words that are appropriate for us to hear and that will motivate, inspire us to be a better person in the world.
Culture is important but more important is God. I am no longer a Puertorican, I am from the Kingdom of God. When I die that is where I want to be dancing, worship and praising.
