Why do some Haitian pastors, preachers, and Haitian gospel singers sing and preach against Haitian Compas music?
It's Sunday afternoon, I am listening to some Haitian Gospel Music and I have a problem...
Please help me...
Forgive me for this disrupting topic this holy Sunday morning but I have to get it off my chest...
Every time a Haitian musician decides to "Konveti / Aksepte Jezi kom sove pesonel li" (accept Jesus as their lord and savior) he/she start singing about being saved BECAUSE he/she is now singing for the Lord as if singing any other type of Haitian music is a sin.
Sorry Jacques Sauveur Jean, you are going to hell!
(really, his name was mentioned in a christian song)
Amen to that...
But these Haitian gospel singers are really campaigning against mainstream Haitian music which is part of our culture.
and they make Haitian christians litteally affraid to listen to their own Haitian music, so many of them migrate to ZOUK.
It's like a marketing campaign gone bad...
LOL...
Have you ever been to a typical Haitian Christian party?
Most of them only play "the music of the lord" or do they?
Let me tell you what's included in the Haitian music of the lord:
All Haitian Christians in Haiti listen to Chansonette Francaise,
Ah!
les Chansonettes Francaise, that's not devil musique,
Am I lying?
All Haitian Christians listen to ZOUK,
Tout Chretien Haitien tande ZOUK,
Zouk La Sel BENEDICTION Nou Ni!
that's not devil music,
They will only listen to Haitian music if "Mathieu 4 Vese 10" is in it!
ALL young Haitian-American Christians listen to Celine Dion, R&B, Hip Hop, and Reggae music...
Am I lying?
My little sister, I love you, but you are GUILTY...
LOL...
When it comes to Haitian music like COMPAS...
Oh no...
RACINE music...
Hell no...
get that devil music out out my house some Haitian Christian parents will start screaming.
My Christian friends, Mizisien ki konveti yo, please tell me:
Why is our Haitian music DEVIL music?
I ask because The Americans, they buy and they listen to all their music, be it R&B, Soul, Jazz, Country music, Rock n Roll, whatever they are accustomed to and it does not interfere with the GLORY of the lord.
Americans go to music concerts and American musicians always "Thank God" first when they receive a music award.
What about Haitian christians?
Paste a di non...
Sa se le monde,
le peche,
l'enfer eternel,
pa achte bagay as yo,
mete kob la nan ofrande pito...
Amen?...
I love Compas music, I love Racine music, do I have to dump it and embrace Michel Sardou and Celine Dion in order to accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior?
That's my question today.
PLEASE...
Stop preaching against Haitian culture, those of you who do it.
I am not trying to raise controversy but we have to admit, there a lots of Haitian pastors, preachers, and gospel singers out there who are using Christianity to turn Haitians away from their own culture.
Dont do that. Please don't do that.
La pe bondye ave-w
